Pearl Jam Bassist Ament Unveils New Skateboard Park in Montana Hometown

by

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament is making sure that the kids in his hometown of Big Sandy, Montana have the opportunity to hone their skateboarding skills. He recently returned to Big Sandy to christen a new, 40 thousand dollar skating playground that he funded himself. The Great Falls Tribune quotes Ament as saying, “When I started skating in 1976, if you wanted something you had to create it yourself.”

Ament says he will buy some skateboards, helmets and pads for kids who don’t own them. He also plans on bringing professional skateboarders to the playground next spring for a skateboarding show.
